A Few Parts Tips/Tips

The day before the new set arrives, spend some time getting the entire engine assembly out of the garage for some bench work. Photograph each connection and assembly as you disassemble the engine block. Before removing the motor from the garage ceiling, hang the rail with wire or zip ties. (I replaced the flat gear rather than the entire assembly associated with it.) Be sure to use a 5/32 mandrel to remove the large gear from the shaft. Hold the shaft in place with a screw before attempting to…

Good product. Easy to install when doing your research.

I just installed one of these in my Craftsman garage door opener. This is the same as all Chamberlain/Lift-Master openers. Having already done this with my other door opener, the whole project only took about 45 minutes, including assembly. Tool. As previously mentioned, the three screw holes in the round metal bracket for the entire sprocket assembly are unthreaded. Save yourself the hassle of threading the screws through before installation and then removing them. This makes them much easier…

Our Liftmaster door closer was installed when the house was built 15 years ago and has worked well. Our garage door had a broken coil spring and I called and had the springs properly replaced. While they were there I asked if they had replaced the "stretched" door opening chains. They looked at the opener and said they see it all the time but the shaft on the Liftmaster opener wears out. They also pointed out that this often happens because the opener limit setting was set so there was too much

The gear broke my knife and it took me half an hour to fix it with this kit!

The best repair experience I've ever had ordering parts online. The gear on my 2003 Craftsman 1/2 hp opener was worn out and the drive shaft broke off. Using the included instructions and a YouTube video, I was able to fix the opener and have it up and running in less than an hour. You can leave the opening rail attached above the door and simply release the end of the motor to lower to a comfortable working height. A NOTICE. With the drive open, pay attention to where your limit switches are…

Good quality aftermarket kit

I have a 1993 LiftMaster 1245 garage door opener. It stopped working - ugh! The engine ran, the light came on, but the door didn't move. The solution was in this "kit"! At first I thought I just needed to replace a white plastic inner sprocket driven by a worm gear. When I opened the device, I found an even bigger surprise. The white sprocket was predictably worn and had white plastic shavings all over it. However, the white star was covered in black metal dust. It turns out that the metal…

Almost (but not quite) easy

I consider myself at least a competent handyman, but I'll be honest with you: It was more of a chore than I expected. When my door stopped working, accompanied by some rather annoying noises, I discovered that a removed gearbox was the culprit (see photo). Although only gear is available, I went with the full set thinking it would be relatively easy. Not as much. I decided to lower the engine head from the ceiling so I could work from the comfort of my desktop, so it took quite a while. It's on

Too long for en - Take your time. So easy even I could do it.

I wasn't sure why I bothered to write a review as I noticed there were hundreds of them already. I read most of them before purchasing this item to make sure I'm doing it right. After reading and researching so many reviews, I came across a few issues that were not addressed in the reviews I read, although they did appear in other reviews that I could not verify. I mean who will have time to read all 1700 reviews. I decided to write a review to consolidate and list all the issues I had, in case
