Low quality! in audio and video accessories

Of the 8 I ordered, 3 had a major mess because the plastic insulator came out with a large chunk that had to be cut and scraped off the threads. There was a gap where there should have been plastic insulation.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • old

This item isn't worth the money

I was about to use this item and my coaxial cable didn't screw all the way in I don't know why I should buy it I know I can't use it I wanted to that this small item was replaced with another one, but he said I couldn't. I think I had to pay again and hope the next one is ok.

Pros
  • Finally got it
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Does not work in Accessories & Consumables

Do not buy. I installed it and could get good. I couldn't convey it at all. Since I didn't have an SWR meter, I have to assume it was off the charts. I removed it and had no problems. A real lightning rod costs a lot more for a reason. This does not protect you or your equipment. Totally fraudulent product.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

I hope I never find out

Thinking about a lightning rod is a bit like saying how good your reserve parachute is that you've never used. you really don't want to know if it works. I know it will be useless in a direct lightning strike, but I really hope it handles static electricity as intended. Physically it looks well designed and built.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

It broke when I tightened the connections

It was difficult to insert into the CB coaxial line. I had to tighten it with pliers. It cracked when I tightened it. Very cheap quality, wish I hadn't bought it. I was attracted by the price and photo. It seemed like good quality, I was wrong. I wrapped it in duct tape to keep moisture out.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Safety

The PL259's screw terminals and connectors are pretty flimsy. Screwing never feels complete. For those experiencing "hum", it's usually a ground loop problem. Shorten the ground strap. Get the ARRL book on proper grounding, it will help.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

Don't use it, look for a real lightning rod, it's fake and dangerous because it doesn't do anything, there's no gas bubble inside, no electronic protection circuit, just a direct connection between in- and exit. I don't understand why Revain allows this fake and dangerous device to be sold. I am reporting the seller to the relevant authorities for endangering public health.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • It worries me

This device may have a practical use but I can't see what it will be - it boosts the SWR in all directions - in the entire HF band, INCLUDING the CB band, at a frequency of 27 MHz approximately 3.x:1. This dampened reception, when tested on my SDR the average dampening at 27MHz was about 3dB, but it dampened throughout the RF spectrum. $7 is way too many return issues - be warned.

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • silent

Poor accuracy/machining of threads and mating parts.

I screwed a good quality square UHF adapter plug (PL-259) to the SO-239 end of one of those surge arresters and the process almost ruined my nice right angle plug because the mating part of the inner conductor became like that pressed tightly against the adapter's inner plug that when plugged in it scraped metal filings from the plug and "wobbled" to put it on the muzzle flash hider (tried to tighten it over a long distance) . it is sufficient for the lugs of the outer conductor to hook/snap…

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
