Price is good IF you bought a dozen. I bought this and threw away the flints after a month because they don't last long. It's only used for hobbies, but it doesn't look like the old ones.

I remember this style of striker years ago. It asserted itself in a booming tool and mold making industry. BUT, this one was made in CHINA. It wouldn't even take a day. Very disappointed that a great company like Lincoln Electric sold a Chinese clone.

This striker works great. But flint has a very, very short lifespan. I've used many strikers in my life but this has to be the shortest life I've ever used. 10 hits and half a flint is gone. Of course you have three flints, but they are too soft.

I took a small piece of cotton and soaked it in vodka, Instant Fire for campfires. Then I dabbed the piece of cotton with Instant Fire alcohol. I put a small piece of cotton in the cradle. Great tool, I bought three of these. Very, very, good, definitely five stars.

I bought this for a flint wheel to use on a lighter that is over 50 years old. The flint wheel remained the same as it was in the old days. My old striker has been used since I was a child and still works like new, much better than the new model. I put a flint disc in my old block and threw away the flimsy new one.

I'm so tired of my old lighters sometimes not sparking. Bend them for better contact with the flint and you're good to go. The next time they were used they fell off and stopped working. The way these Lincolns are made doesn't bend the arrows and stay in strong flint contact with the striker. Buy them and you won't be disappointed and never go back to the old style.

Compared to everyone else this is by far the best ever. Compared to other options, even inferior items will cost you about the same. It comes with 2 spare flints and has a very solid construction. It delivers a quick and intense spark, making it fairly easy to ignite in one attempt. This is a simple product so not much to say about it. I bought these as a gift for 2 friends who saw my vintage head (nicknamed Old Sparky) in this design. The old one works very smoothly, never jams or catches the flint on the rasp. A quick test on them seems a little less solid and well made, but it beats the ubiquitous round strikers that bind and require very precise pressure to move smoothly. The only thing I like about it is the price. Sometimes you have to stroke 6, 7, 10 times. Maybe a copy of this thing won't sit well or work in my hand. Uncomfortable. Also, the flint seems to wear out fairly quickly, I've only had it a month and well over halfway through the first flint. Not a pro so I don't use it all the time.
