I thought the ad photo was generic and it's actually yellow vent tape but it's just white teflon. Yes, you can use it, but it's not designed for industry standard gas lines. Send it back and get the real stuff.

I liked that the tape is easy to work with, doesn't cause mess and suits my work. I replaced the lighter gas valve on my fireplace and had to fill in numerous of the gaps on the fittings. Upon completion I checked for leaks and found none. I still have a lot for the future. Recommend this feed to other people in a similar profession. It would be wise to include some simple instructions for hobbyists who have never worked with tape.

I upgraded the gas line on my gas dryer and added a new built in gas valve. I was able to use this gas connector and special gas conduit tape for all my connectors and steps. This worked great, just remember to wrap the tape in the same direction as the protectors and use a few turns instead of just one. Other than that, I couldn't find any leaks with soapy water and light and my video zoom phone. Same results, no leaks, close up with just my eyes and good lighting, with soapy water to check…
