🍓 Strawberry Delight: Lion Brand Yarn 923-207 Ice Cream Yarn Review

I bought this yarn to knit a check for a neighbor. I can't crochet so a friend volunteered to knit me a blanket. She informed me that she had finished about 10 inches and is loving the color and softness of the yarn. I'm happy with the project so far.

I ordered two skeins of Lemon Meringue and Blueberry for a large overlap quilt. Both strands were quite thin in places. It was ok for C2C, but not for knitting. My main criticism, however, is Blueberry. In the center of the white or light blue stripe is a dark blue spot. It definitely distracted from changing threads!

I am knitting a zigzag blanket for children with this yarn. I love the color and how soft it is. But most of the time I spent untangling and unsightly untying the yarn. I can go about two rows before I have massive knots and tangles. In some places it was so bad that I had to cut the yarn into a rectangle in several places, and even a ball of yarn tangled it. Very sad because I felt I wasted more using the product.

The brightness of dark pink is almost invisible in the photo. The stripes contrast too much between pure white next to the darkest bright pink. The yarn itself is not as soft as I would expect from a baby blanket, it can be a little scratchy. I crocheted a baby blanket, I ordered five balls. I'll report later if that's enough and post a photo. I like yarn because it doesn't break easily so that's good.

Honestly I wish I could give this yarn 5 stars but I can't. It's soft and vibrant, the color variations come and go perfectly, but the yarn gauge consistency is terrible. The project I'm making requires using a smaller hook to make tighter stitches and while it works, sometimes the yarn gets too thin on another part so I had to switch to an even smaller hook.
