Making the Best Sweater in Knitting & Crochet

So far this yarn is working well. This is a 200g acrylic cotton cake mix and you get a decent amount of yarn for the money.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Soft and warm color

A comfortable cotton yarn, perfect for projects that require tight crocheting or knitting, but I wouldn't recommend it for blankets or headbands. The yarn is not suitable for free crocheting or knitting.

Don't buy good for yarn

The reason I'm giving this yarn one star is because I ordered enough skeins to make a blanket and received THREE different - distinctly different - batches of dye have. Ridiculous. Additionally, Lion Brand is notorious for tying knots on broken strands of yarn in her skeins. One of the strands I used had three breaks. That is not right. This yarn wasn't cheap, I will never buy yarn online again. It's far better to buy from a retail store so you can see what you're getting.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons

Knotty Problem Yarn

This yarn is very soft and relatively easy to work with. There are some splits, but if you're careful, it doesn't matter. I'm using it for a baby blanket and it goes really well with the tight puff stitch pattern. Here's my disappointment: The strands aren't tight! I only found one strand that didn't have multiple sections tied together. I do not recommend this yarn if you are doing loose stitches as these knots will distract from your work.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price

DK Soft yarn for sweater

I knitted some patterns from my first cake on 5 needles. I have 19 st by 4 inches in a circle. The yarn is great for the size of the braids, the knit looks nice and smooth with just the right amount of squelch, the yarn can be parted a bit with very sharp needles. I used Hiya Hiya two-point missiles and then Addi round-square missiles. They both performed well but paid more attention to my seams than usual. My only regret about this yarn is that I didn't buy twice as much when Revain quoted me…

UPDATE AUG. 2019***Lion Brand have released additional solid colors in Intense Silver Gray and Deep Cherry Red, both available at my local discount store. I'm looking forward to richer gem tones like this as I wasn't inspired by the mottled multicolored hues. ****Overall I really like this yarn in whipped cream. (I've personally seen other colors at Walmart and didn't like how diluted they were. If there were rich cotton tones, I'd order them. The photos I've seen here of Lion Brand aren't…
