No more screw clamps! on Tools & Equipment

You will save a lot of time squeezing the caliper piston when changing the pads. The pad surface area is about 4 inches, so it should work with most calipers. This is an all metal construction and we hope it will last. I will update this review if anything comes up.

Doesn't work well with toolboxes

I was really excited to try this thing, the problem is it doesn't work. There is no system that increases power through leverage, so you have to clench your hands as hard as possible to try to get the caliper to move. This tool won't even move my caliper in the slightest. I had to resort to a clamp to squeeze the pistons.

broke after 6 years of use

I think I got lucky compared to some other reviews I've read where the pad spacers broke after the first use. I received my Lisle 29100 Quick Quad pad spreader in 2012 and it broke compressing a four piston caliper. The handle came loose from the plunger mechanism as documented by other reviewers. As far as I know, the handle is made of painted aluminum. If Lyle had made the handle out of a stronger material, this tool could have lasted a long time. It's time to find a new piston brake…

Time Saving Tool

A C-clamp or screw piston compressor can be used to force the piston back into the caliper - both require time to set up and use. As a flat rate mechanic, any tool that saves me time allows me to get the job done faster and get more work done in a day. This twin piston supercharger works instantly - just pull the trigger. It works just like a caulking gun but is MUCH more powerful. Yes, you can use it on a single piston caliper - you just need to position it so the black part grips the caliper…
