Description of 🔧 Lisle 38350 Exhaust Hanger Removal: Effortless Exhaust System Maintenance Tool

This tool separates the rubber supports from exhaust hanger brackets. The tool works on all import and domestic car and truck exhaust systems that use the rubber hanger supports. The operator simply squeezes the pliers handles to force the rubber support from the exhaust hanger to make a difficult job much easier. Special tool almost as good as WD-40

Mufflers must be removed from vehicle to install tow hitch. No boxes, no lift, no ramps were an option, the only route was on the ground with the car on jack stands. Bought this specialty tool to make removing rubber donut hangers easier. Narrow working gaps always make work difficult. The device is relatively heavy and well made. It doesn't squirm in your hand, so you can make a good buy on a hanger. But the bent arm is a little short: it's hard to reach the hanger unless it's already near the

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • Nothing here

Hanger saver

I ordered this to remove the muffler. Without this tool, I was unable to dislodge the exhaust hangers from their rubber mounts. Even then I had to use "Cheater". I put 1/2" deep bushings on the handlebars and 1/2" extensions into the bushings to provide enough extra leverage to push the exhaust hangers out of the rubber housings. Maybe I'm just a pushover, but with this cheat kit I can see how you can break one of the handles like one reviewer did. I highly doubt you could break the handle…

Definitely! - Replacement Parts

I bought this in anticipation of installing my new COBB exhaust for my Focus and all I can say is if you plan on doing any exhaust work where the connector will come off its hanger needs to be removed, then you need this tool. It makes the job easier, it really is. Over the years I've used brute force to bleed the exhaust when buying this tool could have saved me time and nerves. Also, how cheap is it. This is a fairly simple design that allows for thicker metal and welds, making this tool very

Made the job easier but not easy

Installed a trailer hitch on my wife's car which required removing the exhaust pipe. Before purchasing this tool, I attempted to remove it from the hangers using a liquid wrench, crowbars, and wrenches (recommended in the hitch directions). This approach worked, but required a lot of effort. In one case it didn't work at all. I decided to spend $15 and buy them. In one case, this made removal fairly easy. This is a hanger that I was able to remove myself. The second suspension came loose with…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Negative impression

BUY NOW! I am embarrassed to admit that I have been a helicopter mechanic for 18 years and only NOW bought your kit after battling countless hours with exhaust hangars. I wish I had known about this tool when I was younger when I was building race cars. I recently had to fit an exhaust on my diesel Ford and struggled for hours with every rubber hangar on the truck! Ford makes their rubber sheds so strong and big that it's ridiculous that you could probably lift a truck out of one of those…

  • Great fit for me

It's worth even for one-time use

Despite my almost total incompetence when it comes to all things mechanical, I figured I should try to remind myself that my opposing thumbs are good for something other than that Typing scathing texts, so I decided to install a trailer hitch on my SUV. For many, this might not need a second thought. For me, this took a lot of planning so I didn't get stuck halfway with a rogue vehicle because I couldn't figure out how to pull the Johnson bar off. In the course of this planning I have learned…

Don't think twice about buying this tool.

I repeat what others have said. Rather than attacking your exhaust gimbals with a crowbar and risking damaging things underneath, do yourself a HUGE favor and buy this tool. You will save yourself from frustration and anger. By the way, I could not find this tool for sale in any regular store. Here's a story that illustrates how well this tool is worth the money, even after a single use: my car jacked up at home, I get under the floor, I oil the KY jelly hangers, I use the tool. The exhaust…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
