INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE – Scoops and Hood Vents

Very good product. Initially there are problems with knowing how to use it. After reading the questions and answers. Guess. The product had to show clearly how to use it.

Works great: External Accessory

One of my cars didn't have a hood mount built in so I bought 45900. Better than I expected. Holds the hood of my 2016 Nissan Rogue with no problems. Perfect for the smooth transition between my regular visits to my mechanic's workshop.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • No Instructions

Will withstand any bonnet

A value for money safety item that feels very strong. This is not a lightweight hood prop. It's steel and seems strong enough to withstand any bonnet I can think of. It has a rubber coating on both ends and a matte black finish.

Pros
  • Easy to fit
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works - external accessory

My car lost the ability to hold the hood up a long time ago. I'm very happy with this brace - it's quite strong and easy to use and doesn't slip during use. No more trying to hold the hood with one hand while checking the fluid level with the other! I keep it in the trunk of my car so I always have it with me.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Not sure

Bonnet and vents work best

To keep little creatures from nesting in my car's engine, I have to support the hood at night. My new machine has a very long arm, which makes this daily work a nightmare. A mechanic friend of mine told me about using a hood stay. I chose this product because the reviews were good. I liked that they said it was hard. I've been using it for a few weeks now and am very happy with it.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Poorly adjusted

Versatility and Reliability

The glass door pillars on my truck don't work very well here at almost 8,000 feet (2,438 m), especially when it's cold outside. I keep this prop in the back of a truck ready to get the job done. My truck also has a manual kick-out prop that keeps it open, and that prop comes in handy when the built-in one gets in the way. It's very strong and I trust it to keep heavy doors and hoods from crushing parts of my body.

So thankful for that!

When I bought my car it didn't have a hood brace under the hood and I checked with local auto parts stores and they said they don't sell universal bars and these universal bars don't work as they claim. I want to say that this is a lie. Rubber stoppers at each end hold perfectly. The only difficulty sometimes is extending and retracting the barbell. It can be tricky. I don't know if this is normal but it was covered in oil and I had to wash it before I could touch it. The ideal height for my…
