It works and is well made.

. The torx bit rotates when used with more torque to loosen the shaft. The external 33-spline "mother" worked VERY well and I had no problems with it. Use the LONG wrench to turn the #33 spline nut on the adapter. Couplings are very tight (at least mine was). It also wouldn't hurt if the instructions indicated which thread to attach the hitch to - right or left. Maybe it's the manufacturer?

Pros
  • . Easy to use.
Cons
  • . Has defects.

This tool is AWESOME! I only used it to replace the alternator.

Product EXCELLENT! I just used it to replace an alternator pulley on my Jetta 02 TDI. I had to cut a matching part so I could replace it in the car without removing the alternator. The bit uses a 7/16 wrench and the wedge nut uses a 7/8 wrench. The pulley was so tight I had to use a hook on a 7/8 wrench and use my foot to pull on the control lever as hard as I could. I was sure this would break the tool so I decided I would either break it or loosen that pulley. Big click, and when I lookedโ€ฆ

Broken tool: tool kits

I needed this tool kit to replace an alternator pulley and it seems like the right tool bits (heads) came in this kit at 10 and 17 mm). To my surprise, the 10mm bushing broke when I started applying force to turn the alternator shaft. Also, the broken part was stuck in the pulley - which meant I couldn't start the car as the pulley would be unbalanced and potentially break. generator bearing. Luckily, after a few hours of dancing, I managed to remove the piece with a makeshift wire hookโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I have no bad feelings about it, everything is fine

LE Socket. Having now replaced the stock tensioner twice with a Toyota genuine part and another failing, I found that Gates has a permanent solution that comes with a decoupling pulley which I have never fitted to a car and hence not the one proper had tool to use. I couldn't find the local Auto Zone with this tool and having had several instances where the tool provided for my application didn't really work, I thought this very cheap tool was worth the purchase price, especially with freeโ€ฆ
