Seems to be pretty good for my slightly non-standard use case. I installed it on a cart with a reel on my dog's long cord. Thus, the cable does not always drag along the floor when running up and down the rail. The recoil spring is a bit weaker and barely able to lift the cable and lightweight 8ft extension. Slightly disappointed with this product. I ordered one for large dogs (over 80lbs) thinking it would be best for my very active medium sized dog (up to 50lbs). It only took her 10 minutes to pull the screws out of the flooring and run after the neighbor's cat, dragging this block behind her. The screws (all 4) came out of the deck with a strong jerk.
