My escape master was indeed trapped.

Background: 2 year old devil dog weighing about 50 pounds. This animal is a fugitive: it digs, gnaws through the chain link fence, tears (or gnaws through the harnesses) the harness, and then chokes the collar during the zip line, even tearing off the spiked collar of obedience. She. My husband loved this and we thought it was worth a try. LOVE IT. We paired it with an obedience spiked collar and she NEVER left the yard. Thank you! I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Suitable for

I refrain from giving this device a grade other than 4. I use it a little differently than intended by the manufacturer. I was looking for an extendable plank that can be placed on a dog cart. Adjust the length of the dog run to fit a long leash reach and make it retractable so it doesn't get tangled in anything on the floor. I've never found a good leash that retracts overhead. So I took the bracket model and adapted it to work with carabiners and cable hinges (see image). This is to keep…

Not suitable for strong dogs.

When it arrived it appeared solid and well made but I mounted it to a 4WD car with the screws provided and my 80lb Cane Corso literally blew it out of the 4WD ripped car. It was used for about 15 minutes in total. I needed something to keep him to one side of the fenced yard while pest control and lawn care were underway to protect him. I ordered this particular one as he said it was sized for his weight. The bracket was completely bent, the bolts ripped out of the 4x4, and the whole thing…

Very satisfied. - Linen

I've been using mine several times a day for about a month and I'm very happy with its performance. I removed the bracket from mine (easy to do) and attached it to the dog run pivot. Now my beagle can easily go into the bushes to go about his business without getting tangled like he did when using the slack rope I had there before. One thing I didn't like at first was that my kids let him get involved. After unbuckling, the beagle landed happily. I was trying to figure out a way to add some…

Works perfectly, suitable for use on the cable route.

Seems to be pretty good for my slightly non-standard use case. I installed it on a cart with a reel on my dog's long cord. Thus, the cable does not always drag along the floor when running up and down the rail. The recoil spring is a bit weaker and barely able to lift the cable and lightweight 8ft extension. I can understand why people have complained about the mount - if this thing is firmly attached then when the dog reaches the end of the cord it will give a sharp tug. This is not a problem…

Disappointed Best in Leashes

Slightly disappointed with this product. I ordered one for large dogs (over 80lbs) thinking it would be best for my very active medium sized dog (up to 50lbs). It only took her 10 minutes to pull the screws out of the flooring and run after the neighbor's cat, dragging this block behind her. The screws (all 4) came out of the deck with a strong jerk. They are only about 1/2 inch long even though they are thick. I would recommend replacing the screws that come with this unit with longer ones…

ANOTHER BROKEN DUE TO INEFFICIENT WELDING

Bought a roll for large dogs, red. There are many variations of this product. Huge mistake! I feel like everyone who left positive reviews left their reviews early after not using this product for over a week. My dog doesn't pull when she's not at home. And she only goes out with it a few times a day and only for a minute to go to the bathroom. The wheel it's welded to is totally unusual for everyday use of the tension created by a dog untangling the cord. The product lasted 1 week before it…
