Description of LMT Onsrud 60 123MW Compression Uncoated

Solid carbide tools offer long tool life and faster cutting speeds than other substrates, but are more brittle and must be used with rigid toolholding systems. Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. Double flute, 30 degree angle.

Underperformed on Milling Project

I purchased this milling accessory hoping for efficient and precise results, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. After I put it to the test in an industrial and scientific environment the results were disappointing. The one positive I can SAY is that it did fit securely onto my machine. However, the lack of compression and uncoated material resulted in uneven cuts and a subpar outcome .would not recommend..

Pros
  • Fits securely onto machine
Cons
  • Underperformed, uneven cuts

Love Onsrud bits are the best among cutting tools

Love Onsrud bits. Super strong, clean cuts, quiet, good price and constant diameter. Also, their online streams and speed charts are a great place to start your tool timeline. I've tried other bits (Amana, BAMtools, Vortex, etc.) and I think the Onsrud bits work for me.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Doubtful
