I am very satisfied with this tool. It is well made and durable. By prying up the lid you can stand it up. It allows you to easily adjust the lid or raise the entire frypot. I think it would be almost impossible to cook this way without such a tool. I love cooking with cast iron and I love it when this tool helps me. I highly recommend.

I received this as a lid lifter for a 12" Dutch Ozark Trail oven (outdoor). The lid lifter surprised me but I'm glad they didn't out of solid cast iron or wrought iron! If they did, lifting and removing the lid would be a much more difficult task. I've only used it once so far, but I can't complain.

I think this will probably work fine (just received it and wanted to try it asap) but the main reason I felt compelled to write a review so quickly , is that the item description is inaccurate. This item is NOT made in the USA. It clearly says Made in China. I'm disappointed as I spend a lot of time looking for things to buy that aren't made in China. Pretty bad, someone will lie just to sell more stuff.
