Apparently Lodge wants us to buy Chinese

. I have a lot of Lodge cast iron. I have two houses (no, I'm not rich, they're both cottages) and in both places a full set of cast iron supplies and lots of duplicates. I was a big fan of the lodge. Why am I paying twice as much for a house? Because it's made in the USA. Why do I care where it's made? Well, we had melamine baby food and many other foods from China. I would be afraid that Chinese cast iron contains lead or other harmful metals. I have no evidence, just fear - that's why I'm paying double to buy the lodge. And then Lodge tells me you can buy Chinese. In fact, they recommend it and even sell it to me. So why should I pay more for something made in the USA? The lodge supports the purchase of Chinese. They support Chinese jobs; Chinese taxes, Chinese economy. I should think twice before paying extra for a US made lodge as the lodge tells me Chinese is fine.
