Lodge Square Pre Seasoned Draining Grilling Review

I was very pleased with this item. I received it the other day and only removed the mark from the middle. There is an awful place that looks like it has already been used! Disappointed and dismayed.

Described as a 10.5 inch pan, upon receipt found the grilling area was only 8.5 inches wide and wide. This description is of the top edge of the bowl protruding 2 inches and appears to be where the measurements were taken. Since this is a grill pan and not a frying pan, the measurement should be the actual area of the grill.

In general, I do not leave reviews. I don't usually experience either negative or positive arousal either way. But for that I had to. I was excited about this item as I wanted to avoid using non-stick pans or aluminum. It arrived quickly and is very heavy. However, after one use and one hand wash, the pot was covered in rust. Not a little, but the entire top and bottom are covered in rust. I can wipe it with a napkin and in the picture you can see it clearly. I recommend avoiding this product…

After I received it, I washed it once with soap, then I seasoned it in the oven 3 times, 1 hour each time. I grilled steak and veggies on it without sticking. Nice smoky flavor but not identical to a real grill. Be sure to do this on a non-stick grill. This grill pan is great! I live in an apartment but have been craving traces of the grill and improved flavor from the outdoor grilling.
