When you are just starting out and need cheap brushes to just paint on canvas. This is for you. If you are working on craft supplies, this is great. I have a painting group and we use these and my group actually prefers them to the harder and more expensive brushes. I was hoping for the best. Loew Cornell is a quality brand and I figured if their name was on it they should be fine. What I didn't know was that her name is only on the plastic bag. A plastic bag that ripped to shreds when opened. The brushes are labeled Modern Crafts and are all made specifically for this brush set. Many of the brushes have bristles that stick right out of the box. Some of the brushes are warped and the wood is of rather poor quality. I'm hoping a little alcohol will dissolve

Bought them for my daughter because she likes to draw and runs like crazy with brushes. She used them with acrylic paint on canvas and said they work well. I like them because you get a wide variety of brushes for a relatively low price, especially if you're not like my kid and leave them in the dried paint for a few days. You don't buy these brushes expecting a perfect brush. They buy brushes like this for things that can ruin the brushes. That's why I got it. You are appropriate. I will use them for polishes and other brush destroyers and keep my higher quality brushes for higher quality tasks. I'm an aspiring abstract painter (which means I can only use random colors) and this set is almost perfect for my use. Great for acrylic paints, these brushes are easy to use and clean. I've also tried oil paints but found them almost impossible to wash off. As you can see in my last drawing, these brushes will never get clean again after painting with oil paints, so I wouldn't recommend them for oil. I am happy with this purchase but we are aspiring artists who just enjoy various crafts/hobbies. The blue brushes in the set appear to be of higher quality than the other brushes. I bought these for my kids and they are happy with them. If you are looking for quality brushes for a specific job I would suggest looking elsewhere.
