🔧 Convenient Add-On: LOUISVILLE LADDER LP-2400-00 Pail Shelf for Easy Access during Work Review

I love my Louisville stairs. Since the set didn't come with a shelf, I was excited to try this shelf. First, the diagrams in the instructions are hard to understand. When I finally figured them out, I found that the holes in the brackets were misaligned. I thought about drilling the holes in the right place but then realized it still doesn't fit my staircase. I faked my own nozzle and use it. My experience with this shelf speaks poorly of the brand.

Fits my Rock River Brand ladder like it was made for him. The holes in the ladder lined up with the holes in the shelf bracket. Installation instructions are for specific Louisville models, so a little trial and error was required to install the shelf. It has a cutout for a round paint can and holes to hold some tools. All fasteners have locknuts to prevent loosening and require a 3/8" and 5/16" wrench or wrench. You can use a screwdriver instead of a 5/16.

I could return the product but I'll probably get better bolts. They're either too short (on the shelf, the bolts aren't long enough to engage the nylon insert into the locknuts), or the threads don't exactly match the threads of the locknuts themselves. Usually, for better fasteners, you have to go to the hardware store. Oh, and the Louisville Ladders customer service number lets you listen to "Please wait for an available agent" at least 30 times before hanging up if you're like me.

The shelf arrived with an incorrectly drilled lever. I contacted Louisville for a replacement and they took my information but never went any further. After calling several times and speaking to very friendly representatives who said they would be in touch with a replacement part, no one really answered once, not once. I tried to put this "universal" bucket of paint, it doesn't even come close to matching. I called the Kentucky factory, they asked for a photo, which I sent them. The support guy texts me back that they must have screwed it up at the factory and he sent me a new one direct from them. Received it, tried to install it and it was the same - 2 inches from either side where it needs to connect to the ladder to fold properly. I texted him back and he told me. The ladder is very strong and stable. I feel completely safe using it and it will be in our house for MY cleaning purposes as I have trouble standing up. I gave it 3 stars because it was very dirty and worn and looked like it had been returned and put back into storage.
