Good value for money: Nuts

I frequently use metal threaded inserts in making jigs and hardware for my workshop. These inserts are well made and cost a lot less per piece than buying them at my local hardware store.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Expensive

Does not fit hex nuts

I ordered these Threaded Inserts and they didn't fit the hole for my project. I ordered the right size and I'm not sure why it didn't work. They arrived in good condition and are of very good quality.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

A beautiful way to connect two surfaces

I bought some nuts at my local hardware store and they broke during installation. When I saw her with an Allen key, I knew this would be the best way. Not only did they not break, but they screwed in quite easily (and easier if I used beeswax). And yours were cheaper!” Richard

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Not for hardwoods. - Closures

I had to get the style with no lips. The best estimate of what size to drill a hole without splitting the material, using a smaller thread pitch will split the wood, so use caution as it doesn't have sharp cutting threads, only rounded ones. So I caution against using it on hardwood, it depends on the extension to be held. As always, I spend my hard-earned money on the items I review.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Vulgarity

No complaints, just a warning

I bought 30 pieces and I am very happy with them. You won't believe how many ways you can think of using them. My joinery is in a nearly watertight basement that's 100 years old. Whenever I build a new bench or stand I use this and a screw to make the legs adjustable and waterproof. They are excellent for making jigs and other tools. An advice. Because of their design, they seat themselves when installed in front of panel products. However, when inserting into the butt, be sure to drill a…
