Best for diff cover

Fits perfectly After reading many reviews of this gasket not fitting I was a bit skeptical. I removed the 3rd element, cleaned both mating surfaces and the gasket fitted perfectly the first time. No RTV, no mess.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Minor issues

The best Ford 9 inch seal.

The best seal that money can buy. I have done many Ford 9 inch rear wheels and this is the best seal I have ever used. Make sure you use copper washers for the studs and the gasket only goes one way. The tongue goes to the passenger side.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Good padding. Be careful when installing.

This seal fits one way on a 9 inch Ford body. Otherwise the holes will not match. If it doesn't fit, turn it over. The screw holes should line up with the protrusion on the passenger side. Although this gasket is strong, handle it with care.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Frequency

Improper seating in the seals

I had to press the bolts on my 9 inch rear Ford in my 1978 F100. I tried to get it even across the bolts, machined one side then the other etc. The holes in the gasket just didn't line up properly and I ended up with small cracks around some of the bolts. Even when it's pushed all the way down you can see the gasket holes don't match. I hope it doesn't leak, but wouldn't be surprised if I had to redo the seal with an RTV.

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Mystery
