Good product! Suitable for heat lamps and terrarium mats

I have been buying these for years, I have bought them for my tortoises and with this light my tortoises are happy. Works perfectly! Arrived well packaged and undamaged. The bulb is not cracked or broken. kept well. Bright enough to see everything. Highly recommended!

Cons
  • Hard to tell

Buy this for your Iggy! Save your iguana's life!

Great product! It just emits light! Please do not purchase if you need both or think you will. This needs to be paired with UV light, which also generates heat. My iguana reacted to this immediately! It's helping him recover from a mild case of MBD.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Only available in black

Never worked - heat lamps

I'm excited to try a new, cheaper version of the lamp that I've used for years and it literally never came on. I have two deep units so a larger bulb wouldn't be a problem for me, but this light has never worked in any of the domes. My other lights work fine in the same domes. Shame. Back to what I know works.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Updates available

Not for Bearded Dragons

Looks like a great quality product for other reptiles. I acknowledge the lack of knowledge and the fact that I should have researched more. But my bearded dragon didn't work immediately after using it and found it wasn't providing adequate UV for bearded dragons. Sold for both bearded dragons and other reptiles, it even has a goatee on the side of the box!

Only 3 months, less than 2000 hours

I received the UVB 10.0 lamp on May 13th and only kept it until September 1st. Since I only run it for a few hours a day, the lamp lasted less than 8,000 hours, according to the product table it should work. On the box, the manufacturer writes that the warranty is 3 months, so I wrote to them. I will update this review as soon as I have a satisfactory answer. UPDATE: The manufacturer was able to refund my money as the bulb broke within the 3 month warranty period. I gave it an extra star for…

It would be great if it didn't burn through.

I had it for about a week and one day I felt an unpleasant odor. I didn't know it smokes and flickers. The lamp is new, the bulb is new, the performance is normal. I don't know what happened to this lamp, but it disappointed me a little. My other pears have not had this problem so far, except for one that had a manufacturing defect, so far only the Herp pear had problems. I might try again later, but I can't recommend it right now.

  • Everything is fine!

Not worth saving.

Bought this UVB 5.0 lamp to replace an old UVB 5.0 lamp that was used for my red-eared turtle tank. Decided to try this unknown inexpensive brand to save money after using a well known and more expensive brand for some time. After I replaced it and turned it on, it caught fire after a while. I found it odd as I've never had this problem with previous UVB bulbs. Anyway, I waited a few minutes and then there was an electrical noise. Then it started flickering like a strobe light, startling my…

Great CFL UVB lamp!

I'll start by not believing the hype surrounding T8 or T5 UVB lamps. They are much more expensive and not as good. I bought the Zilla Desert 50 UVB because it's supposed to be better than the CFL lamp. When I used my photometer to check the UVB output it was weaker compared to this CFL. On the 12" output the UVB was 2.1. Move the fixture length right or left and the UVB output is 0.9-1.0. Not acceptable for 18" fixtures. When using these CFL lamp at the same 12" height, the UVB output was 2.4…
