Doesn't work very well

Because the ends are fixed, the collar doesn't constrict our dog's neck. Next time I'll buy a chain mount type that applies the same pressure all around. It really doesn't get any better than an all-weave or leather collar.

Collar doesn't hold up Adjustable

Easy to put on and take off. The soft spike covers the blunt effect. Adjustable length buckles won't stretch over time. This affects the correct fit of the collar on the dog's neck (high) and the expected effect. A short stroke can turn into a long choke if used carelessly. Herm Sprenger collars are best purchased for long-term use.

Ideal for training large dogs

To be honest, I did not expect such a high quality of the goods received. For the price, it was an invaluable tool for training my service dog. The quick release makes me feel secure when I start it; and prong caps protect his neck. I would recommend this item to anyone who has a large dog that is in training.

Would I buy again

Bought this for my 104 lb dog. who is not leash trained. I doubted it would work. As soon as I put it on he felt a lot better. He stops pulling on the leash and walks beside me. My kids can walk in it now. Doesn't walk on another leash. It's easy to attach. It has two loops for which you hook a leech. It doesn't harm the dog. This is very helpful when the pet is taller than you. This is a win-win situation.

Fixed size - does not stretch

I've had a few of these clasp and clasp collars and the idea is that they don't catch the dog until it breaks off and the collar is tight. As soon as the dog stops pulling, the collar relaxes and the pressure is released. This collar looks like it should but doesn't. The collar is a fixed size, and the pulling dog causes the barbs to pierce the front of the neck, not all the way around. Our 55 year old rescue dog loves to daydream about riding the Iditarod when we take him on our daily walks. It is leash sensitive, meaning it will trigger on small dogs and lunges.
