Suitable for repacking trailer bearings

Used for repacking trailer wheel bearings. Worked well for getting grease into the nooks and crannies of the bearings.

Pros
  • Convenient to use
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Wheel bearing packer

I have been packing wheel bearings by hand for decades. Bought this packer and it really saves time. Packed bearings onto my 4 wheel boat trailer before towing the boat from Tennessee to Florida and back for Christmas. There are no problems with the bearings. I am very pleased!

Pros
  • Wheel bearing tools
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Does what it should.

Does what it says on the tin with surprising efficiency. While it looks like it could lose a lot of grease, you generally need to keep the spindle well lubricated when replacing bearings. So if you choose not to use it, the fat loss is your own fault.

Thing works great

I bought this knowing I could easily fill the bearings by hand and at worst lose a few bucks. I packed the bearings into my trailer and after a long pumping to fill the cup, squeezed out the old grease. The exterior went even quicker and then I used the extra new fat in the cup to fill the lid. I'm glad I bought it. If you look at it and think it's garbage, it's not. If I did this for a living I would buy a better system but every few years it will be fine.
