STEPED First use in thin cinder block

This thing is totally blunt in hollow cinder block which is very easy to cut. Used all the right materials, pressure, eyc and had a good puncher. It took 25 minutes and one punch burned out to go 3/4 inch into the cinder block.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Doesn't work for me. but.

Using this drill bit in a Dewalt DWD520R rotary hammer and attempting to drill through poured concrete has resulted in failure for me. After 10 minutes of drilling, I went through less than 1/4 inch of concrete. Knowing I had 9" left I gave up and rented a much larger drill and drill and went through the entire 9" in less than 10 minutes. To be honest I think this combination of drill and Drill Just Wasn't Enough If I just needed to drill through a relatively thin wall and less dense cinder…

Great drill for what it was made for

If you need a drill for drilling cement block, brick, cement board or plaster this is the one for you. I used to read a lot of reviews about carbide hole saws and a lot of people complain that they just smoke and get very hot when drilling into wood. I'm sure they do, they really aren't built for it. However, if you're drilling through any of the materials listed above, this bit is one of the best I've used. It lasts longer than many other brands. I know this because I've bought similar ones…

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Legacy
