Where the hell is this thing taking me?

I bought one of these when my other GPS stopped working. I liked the other one so much that I didn't hesitate to choose another Magellan. I don't know if Magellan gets paid to get people to shops or what, but regardless of the settings, this device gets you downtown, through traffic, not a faster detour. Proven multiple times, it will get you through slower, congested areas even when set to the fastest time or maximum freeway use. Later, as I got used to my new routes, I quickly found that my…

Don't trust the directions

We quickly learned to take Google or Map Quest directions with us even though we had a GPS. In most cases you can rely on instructions, but sometimes it costs you a lot of extra time. We keep the GPS on the "fastest route". However, the GPS does not seem to take country roads into account when planning a trip. This GPS gets me where I'm going, but1. He can't find my very large office building, which has been in a metropolitan area for over 13 years. I had to enter the next address for routing.2. Sometimes it involves very strange twists and turns. For example, he replaced a very simple left turn at a major intersection with a series of right turns through the intersection, a U-turn, and another passage through the intersection. Rather than simply turning right at another major intersection, on…

Excellent value for money

I've always loved the convenience of Magellan GPS. The right menu button can be reached in 1 or 2 clicks, which is less than some other models I've come across; and what you need when travelling. If you know the zip code, Magellan models require fewer steps to enter an address compared to other GPS brands. I used to have a Magellan 1200 RoadMate which I believe had better speed and accuracy in location triangulation compared to the RoadMate 2045T-LM. This model is a great buy at $89.98 - it…
