I bought it to preserve apples. With this peeler, apples can be peeled and prepared for canning much easier and faster. It's easy to set up. I like that the blades are stainless steel. Its suction is firm on my counter and it cleans well and smoothly. it cleans easily. It's easy and convenient.

BUT AFTER APPROX. 6 USES THE CUTTING BAR WAS BROKEN WHERE THE HANDLE TURNED. It looks like a screw so I figured I could just replace it, but it's all one piece. BECAUSE I MISSED THE RETURN DATE I THINK THIS WILL GO INTO THE WASTE. IF YOU WANT ONE OF THIS, GO TO A BETTER COMPANY.

It is weak and the instructions are not correct. In addition, it cannot be washed in the dishwasher. If I can find a way to get him back, I will. If not the Salvation Army or some similar charity, she gets it. If I need another apple/potato peeler in the future I will shop at Target or Bed Bath and Beyond.

Washing was very easy, I just hand washed. It has a suction cup to stick to the counter to keep it from moving. It is lightweight yet very strong and durable. It comes with very good instructions.

I use 25 pounds of apples to make apple butter and peeling them is the hardest part. It's easy with it. It has a suction cup so it sticks to the cabinet and doesn't move. Figuring out how to get the apple right was the hardest part, but once I figured it out, it was easy. The only problem is storing this suction cup as it's a little big for a drawer so you'll have to find a place under the closet. It's easy to clean and has a nice red color, which I think is also a plus.

I REALLY REALLY wanted this item and was so excited to use it. However, as a previous user pointed out, the instructions are (strongly) lacking. I had to read other reviews to understand how this item works. Having said that, I CANNOT use it as the wing nut can actually be welded to it. I literally rip off the bolt and nut. both don't move. Unfortunately I have to send it back and look for alternatives.

Bought for a 25 year old with autism and mobility issues. She loves apples (peeled, sliced and coreless) but relied on others when she wanted it. Now she can do everything herself! This not only gave her independence in this area, but also gave her the confidence to try more things on her own.
