good board Use the correct USB cable

There were initial difficulties uploading the sketches and we have contacted the supplier. They responded quickly with some helpful suggestions. The problem was a bad cable. If the board has a pre-installed program running but does not show up as Silicon Labs Bridge in Device Manager, there may be a driver or cable problem. I used the Windows 10 CP210x driver installer available from SL and found a micro USB cable that supports data transfer. The charge-only cables that come with manyโ€ฆ

A contact could not be soldered to the soldering pad.

UPDATE: The seller has contacted me and offered to fix the issue I was previously having with the board. I have a feeling it might just be an issue with the board I received and not the product as a whole. 5 stars for customer service and the fact that the rest of the board seems to work very well and is intuitive. I have a lot of soldering experience and I believe the quality of the product is to blame. The rest of the board works as expected.

Nice little device suitable for single board computers

Played with it for a few days then screen went blank. Otherwise it's a nice little board; just badly designed. Update: The seller contacted me about the broken board claiming it was "compressed in transit". It looks like this could be the case as the board has visible damage which I attribute to poor design. The seller informed me that he will replace the board, after that I will update my review if the new board is not damaged. Update: The replacement has arrived and appears to be workingโ€ฆ

That's a great little board

That's a great little board. I wasn't aware at first that it can also charge the battery and only noticed it when I opened the packaging. For documentation, download the files from the Revain product page. Also Google "ESP8266 ROBOT ZERO ONE" for setup instructions. The orange LED is blinking very fast but when I added the battery it stopped. The fact that it can charge batteries makes it very useful.

Quick and Easy Installation

I started looking at the ESP8266 as a simpler alternative to simply switching a relay on and off over WiFi. When I stumbled across this product, I was immediately drawn to the fact that it comes with a built-in OLED display, thinking it would be convenient and make my final product (which is mostly for personal use) more beautiful. Well I wasn't disappointed, after soldering the included connectors I laid it on a breadboard to keep it from moving while I played with it (see pic) and for now Iโ€ฆ

I have ordered one of these ESP8266 boards. He arrived early enough. I noticed that the developer provided many code samples for download. There is enough example code here to experiment and use to start my IoT project. The small screen is also useful for showing simple status messages. I am impressed. Update: I've been exploring the endless possibilities of this little IoT device. So far I've found that you don't need any LUA code at all. Instead, I used the Arduino IDE 1.8 with the HELTECโ€ฆ

Great Package for Embedded ESP8266 and OLED Display

Excellent Package for Embedded ESP8266 and OLED Display. It is easy to work with and renders text very well. I've attached a video of my project I used NodeMCU for. . This is a drip irrigation timer that I use and using the OLED display as a point of use reference is very helpful. I just had to add the code for the display screens to the source code to make it work. I will order more. I used Arduino with the following settings: Board - NodeMCU 1.0CPU Frequency - 160Upload Speed - 921600ESP8266โ€ฆ
