Great little camera, easy to assemble and install. I have a lot of experience with MotioneyeOS and normal cameras, so it was pretty much the same. I installed it on Pi 3/B. It only gets 4 stars because there seem to be light sensors that I'd like to turn off the IR if there's enough light. However, this does not appear to be the case. I tried some commands that I thought might work, but they stayed active not only when the Pi was powered on, but whenever it was connected. Yes, the Pi does not…

Ready to use

I bought this to use with a Raspberry Pi Zero W and MotionEyeOS as a motion-activated video camera. The camera worked out of the box, no complaints. I have no experience with the official Raspberry Pi camera, so I can't compare them. I chose this model because of the IR lighting as mine is in a large closet which is dark most of the time. The camera works well when the cabinet lights are off or on. It didn't take me long to find out which of our cats was defecating in this toilet. I had to…

  • Free for educational purposes

Sharp image but magenta tint and off-center lens.

Seems like a good way to improve my jetson nano's field of view for autonomous driving, but after installing it I encountered 2 problems. Firstly 50% to 70% of the video no matter what I was pointing at had a strong magenta cast, another issue was that the lens appeared to be aligned with the subject but the image was completely skewed to one side. In the sample photo attached, the phone was straight ahead, but it appeared to be on the right side of the image. I will not buy again, I will try…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Works with both Raspbian Jessie and Stretch on Pi Zero W. You need a higher output USB power adapter; I use 2A one. The picture quality is pretty good. I'm taking off a star because the description doesn't say "FPC cable" (which is what I assumed for the gold cable picture) and even though the cable was included, the cable didn't work. After switching to a Pi Zero v1.3 (Adafruit 3157) camera cable it started working. It would save me time if it didn't come with a cable.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Modern

  • No instructions

I am using this camera with a Raspberry PI Zero W in an Elixir/Nerves security project I am working on and it has the official Raspberry Camera PI to date surpassed (v2.1) in terms of image quality and build The lens on it is really good and protects the camera sensor (a feature the official PI camera doesn't have) The night vision is fantastic and the IR LEDs aren't too bright Like As you can see, I haven't been able to get it to turn on 'Day mode' yet - as it automatically disabled IR and…
