Description of Makita 00941 High-Impact Square Power Tool
Precision machined tips, pulse torsion rings, an optimized torsion zone, and unique steel, combine to deliver improved overall performance and bit life. Lasts up to 90X longer than standard impact bits. Precision machined tips provide a superior full contact fit for improved holding power and longer life. Pulse Torsion Rings help to disperse impact energy through the torsion zone and off of the bit tip. Optimized Torsion Zone geometry facilitates an ideal transfer of impact energy for improved bit life.
If you're looking for a good screwdriver bit at an affordable price, these are NOT the bits for you. Bought a 5 pack for a small patio project. We have been using Makita products for many years and are satisfied. If you're using a 2" deck screw with a 1/4" impact driver, the bits will start to round after about 50 screws. Throw it away after 75. Definitely don't buy again.
Pros
Precision machined bits provide a superior full contact fit for increased holding power and longer life
I have used Makita XPS Torx bits before and have been very happy with their durability and functionality. Based on that experience, I chose these square XPS nozzles. So far my experience has been very disappointing. The bits don't hold the screws properly and fall out too easily. I'm considering returning them and going back to Bosch for a square ride.
Pros
Optimized torsion zone geometry for perfect energy transfer for longer bit life
Fence works with stainless steel screws and an 18V impact driver Works perfectly. Used 1 tip that still looks and works like new after 25 screws. For comparison, the grade B**** is rounded down after 3-4 screws. A properly sized head allows you to "pre-install" the screws on the drive head and operate them with a one-handed tool. Admittedly, my experience was simple. This is an expected consumable, as evidenced by the presence of a large package.
Pros
Lasts up to 90 times longer than standard impact drill bits
