Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ Makita XAG11Z Brushless Cordless Lithium Ion Grinder

Electric brake stops the grinding or cut-off wheel in 2 seconds or less for maximum productivity. Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT) turns the motor off if rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to stop. Automatic Speed Change technology adjusts speed and torque during operation for optimum performance. The BL Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the BL Motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life; delivers 8,500 RPM. Efficient BL Brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge.

Feels solid and runs smooth

My first job (so far only) for this thing was cutting galvanized pipe. Half of the cuts had an angle greater than 45 degrees. I'm new to working with an angle grinder (but not a power tool) and it was pretty easy to use. I pulled the vise to where the work was going and it was worth it for the stability. I tried the very thin cut-off wheel that came with the tool and a slightly thicker one. Both cut well and don't noticeably wear out after a dozen cuts each. Actually, I would go with a thinโ€ฆ

Advanced design and security.

What a technological advance and much needed security! Disk protection is not enough. I removed the old Makita plugin after it attacked me. The tool broke while cutting a sheet metal beam. In a split second, and without warning, the tool violently threw my workpiece, spinning and bouncing like a spinning top, and then as it hit the ground it swallowed the power cord and eventually shut itself off. Then the pain literally hit the feeling like a sledgehammer. I looked down at my left hand inโ€ฆ

It has a place in my line of mills

Just received yesterday, was in the middle of assembling so I was able to use it as soon as I charged the battery (about 45 mins). I was working on a medium sized coffee table base (6ft long, 33ft high, 13ft wide) - I had to grind about 30 welds on 1.5" square tubing (combination of 40 and 120 grit fillet and butt welds). petal discs), then I had to cover the entire frame with a wire cup and do a few touch ups with a 120 grit petal disc. I did 21 of the 30 welds before I had to turn off theโ€ฆ
