Disappointing Punch Tool for Cutting: Avoid this One!

This industrial and scientific punch tool failed to meet my expectations. The rectangular cuts were uneven and jagged, leaving me with a messy finish.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Inefficient and creates messy finish.

Great tool, saves me hours a week

Works great, essential tool for those who hang a lot of gutters. Saves me several hours a week, time I used to spend cutting imperfect drain pipe holes with scissors, dremel, grinder or hole saw.

Pros
  • Replacement punch and die for use with Malco GOT tool frame
Cons
  • Has flaws

If the hole punch made the right size hole, this tool is great.

I bought a gutter release tool and a 2x3 rectangular punch. The punch came without mounting screws because it was used and returned so I had to contact Malco to get the correct screws as I couldn't find exact fitting screws at the hardware store. My biggest complaint is that the 2x3 hole is too small to fit in any 2x3 exhaust funnel I can find. I hate round holes! They are the easiest way but not the right way because they are too small and restrict the flow too much and the sheet metal screws…

Pros
  • Punch a clean vent hole anywhere in a standard 5" or 6" K-Type aluminum gutter
Cons
  • So far so good
