sorry i have a broken one? Or is it just cheap?

Looked good when received. I rinsed it before baking, and then the handle broke and the bottom parts are already moving badly. I just washed it. I did not use cleaning products and tools. At the time, I hadn't given up and tried to grab the handle to make the floor work, but the handle just hurt my finger. Now I just shake it when I want it to work.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Functionality

Works, BUT VERY cumbersome! Not effective

The handle to hold it and the handle to rotate it are very close together. I can do it with difficulty because I'm right-handed, but definitely not left-handed. The bent wire rubbing the bottom to "sift" takes extra fork time to pull everything out and sift. Holds 3 cups of flour BUT YOU CANNOT SIEVE 3 cups as the bent wire will knock everything out. Pooh. I'm glad it was only $6.99 as it's NOT worth it. Very difficult, which is not the goal, and now my arm hurts. Kindness is here.

Works well but not worth the price

This strainer will end up getting the job done. However, it's not worth the price at all and after buying this one, I saw the exact same thing in the dollar store. It's a bit noisy and that's okay, but if you have large chunks of what you're sifting it can be difficult to twist the handle and crush them to sift them. Sometimes it's better to just sift and shake if the handle becomes blocked. I'd recommend paying a little more for a better screen if you can afford it, or going to the dollar…

Works better after you "break " it.

Whatever "engineer" came up with this puts V-shaped recoil springs on the top of the handle (closest to the pivot point, bad idea) meaning this " broken" is "" literally from the first pull of the handle during the test run. The good news is that this thing is now less sticky when I'm working with it but manually squeezing the handle. The bad news is that the guys who did it, never thought of just using a regular captive coil spring in the middle or bottom of the handle (further away from the…

I took it for the kitchen, not suitable. . .

The strainers should NOT spit powdered sugar over the top of the strainer, and the spinning "hands" should not scratch the strainer so badly that only part of its surface is used. Also, sieves should not have a handle mechanism that is so poorly made that it twitches and looks like it will break with every spin. This colander is an attempt to give the look of the bake counter an old-fashioned "granny kitchen" look, but that's about all it does. Completely useless functional tool in the kitchen.

Don't waste your money on this

If you're a bit of a serious baker, don't buy this. After trying to use it, it was so bad I didn't even bother giving it away. I threw it away. If you look at the photos you will see that there is a hole for the wire used to turn the crank to pass through. I should have noticed this before buying because flour (or whatever you're trying to sift) comes right out of that hole and makes a mess everywhere and you're wasting product and you don't know how much. Also, it doesn't even rotate evenly…

Very easy to use: baking mold

I didn't want to buy a manual colander because I've never used it, but now I know I'll never go back to the squeeze type. Not only does it look good, it also worked very well as the crank mechanism is easier to use than I could have imagined. I've ruined too many screens by cleaning them with water; Lesson learned, so I just wiped these down with a clean cloth, not even damp. I find it has enough flour in it so the size is right for my needs. When I took the full strainer my table was a mess…
