High performance tripod at a solid price

To be clear this is not a travel tripod. It's outrageously massive, which is a good thing. Its legs snap into place with a very strong click, the weight of the metal construction inspires real confidence in stability, and the 90-degree center column trick is really useful. I would recommend saving some money. and opt for the aluminum version as you most likely won't (and probably shouldn't) use it for travel. The added weight of aluminum will actually serve you better for the uses this tripod…

I am very satisfied with this stable tripod.

Very good tripod. I wanted one that was the best bang for the buck I had. Yes, it's a little heavier, but very durable and easy to install. Be careful when opening for the first time. The triangular head almost fell out of my hands. Be sure to tighten the small screw to secure it to the case. It almost came loose before I could read the instructions by simply taking it out of the box. I love it though. I don't plan on using it much for hiking in the woods so the weight doesn't bother me. I…

There's a reason the Manfrotto is one of the best tripods out there.

Reliable product. Strong metal parts. Heavy, but just what you need when you trust a tripod with thousands of dollars worth of camera gear. Cool, of course, for the price. But that will probably last a lifetime. A small part of me is a little nervous about the bolt on platform that attaches to the camera and secures the camera to the tripod - seems like there needs to be more to ensure it doesn't slip out - there's at least a two piece locking device, which helps with protection, but…

Rock! - Full Tripods

This tripod is very strong and the 3-way head provides very precise control of camera positioning. My previous tripod slowly drifted with every setting except the lightest. Positioning my D750+Sigma 150-500 (>6lbs) was particularly difficult. With this setup, this tripod works like a rock. The friction in the head can be adjusted to control movement. All legs can be positioned independently to achieve the desired configuration. They can be opened wide to get very close to the ground (which…

Worth every penny. Don't skimp on a tripod if you want sharp photos.

This tripod is fantastic. I bought a Nikon D7000 on December 26, 2014 and previously bought a $75 tripod here at Revain thinking I could save a few bucks. Well I was wrong. This tripod wasn't strong enough for my DSLR. My photography teacher told the class on the first night not to skimp on a quality tripod and he was 100% right. I chose this tripod and couldn't be happier. It's pretty hard; about 8# and it is very durable. The leg locks are very strong and there is no doubt that they are…

Best build material and functionality for a tripod

This is my Manfrotto MK 055 review I love that this tripod only has two (hard) clamps per leg instead of four per leg like my old Manfrotto MK C3. limited version. There is a really cool feature that allows you to extend the legs outwards to accommodate different tripod positions in relation to different surfaces and angles. The MK 055 has a very well built tripod head design, I like that a lot! There is a button (on the lowest level) to move the head from left to right, a second button (on the

Very good Manfrotto product.

This tripod meets and exceeds expectations. I've owned several tripods over the years, ranging from cheap to very expensive. As a mid-range tripod, it covers all the details I could need in my studio when shooting. It's big, solid, good looking and has added some weight with all of that. Not a problem as it's not made for travel, but it won't break your back if you absolutely have to carry it around. Head + camera + distance from the center will not make your tripod fall over. My version has a…

Best build material and functionality for a tripod

This is my review of the Manfrotto MK 055. A lighter version of the C3. The MK 055 has a very well built tripod head design, I like that a lot! There is a button (on the lowest level) to move the head from left to right, a second button (on the middle level) to move the head back and forth, and finally there is a third button (on the…
