Unable to register for warranty

These Manfrotto monopods are sold on the gray market and cannot be registered for warranty on the Manfrotto website because the QR code has been deleted from the packaging.

Can't open legs.

the tripod leg on the bottom was twisted so tight that it was impossible to open it and the bottom shaft broke trying. For a $300 tripod, this is a disaster.

Pros
  • Like everyone else up to
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Fantastic for quick shots

It's Manfrotto - enough said. Lightweight for as strong as it gets - there are lighter options, of course, but they will flex - both the pivot action and footpad are buttery smooth. It doesn't hold up as well as a tripod, so you'll need a dedicated cameraman with one person to hold it, but it's not designed for solo operations anyway.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Excellent fit for my DJI OM4

I got this for my DJI OM4 which is a light weight unit compared to a heavy camera. Maximum height I feel comfortable with this monopod. If it's above that I would put a heavy bag to secure my legs to make sure he's standing while I'm shooting. Lightweight and easy to use, especially for traveling. Perfect for a petite woman. If you are a serious man/woman with a camera, this monopod is not for you.

Pros
  • availability
Cons
  • too dumb

After a good chat and demo

Saw a videographer using one at AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. After a good conversation and a demonstration, I ordered immediately after my return home. Sophisticated design, high-quality materials and workmanship. Two liquid heads. Easily holds my Canon XL-2 and my Canon D6. Simpler and lighter tripod. Stretches to great length. Forced locking mechanisms. A shoulder strap would be nice, but it's easy to make your own. I've used it extensively. I am very happy.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Does a great job as a monopod. At the same time

As a monopod, it does its job perfectly. However, he is not perfect. The head of the monopod only has a stepless tilt, the pan is the base and not adjustable. So if you try to keep a hand on the stick and pan, the stick will also move, which isn't great for smooth movement. To unlock the ball joint on the base, you must bend down or lift the entire monopod to access the latch. For these reasons I returned it and chose Libec HFMP.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • boring packaging

Too shaky on monopods

This is good gear but not stable enough for me. In a bar, I often have to stretch 6 feet to shoot videos above the heads of the crowd, and this thing moves at the slightest touch. The legs are so small that they don't provide enough support and the bottom of the monopod is very, very narrow. This might be just what you need if light weight and maneuverability are what you're after, but if you want stability when fully extended, look no further than the big Sirui. I just got it and haven't…

Pros
  • good stuff

but it feels very solid and not too bulky

This is one of my most used set pieces. Click three levers (I don't usually use the 4th), lower the legs and click the latches. Bam, you've stabilized. While he is able to stand on his own, I wouldn't leave him alone outside or with a camera on it. I paired mine with an Xpro ball head and it's a killer combo. Carrying a camera and a monopod in my hands, I can take pictures in a matter of seconds. It's not the lightest monopod you can buy, but it feels very solid and not too clunky. Seems I…
