Ideal for compost tea

I used it to aerate two 5 gallon (vermi) buckets of compost tea for 48-78 hours. I bought an extra length of hose to be able to place the pump more flexibly. I clean the stones after each use. Very quiet operation, just a slight vibration/hum. Perfect for this use.

Pros
  • Great for small homes
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Well-weighted double air stones

I really like that the air stones come with weights. I have it outside in my pond. It's not weatherproof, so I made a plastic holder out of an old plastic container. It has been oxygenating my pond for a few months now. I was afraid my fish wouldn't survive the winter, but this helped.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • I don't remember

Stop working after a few months.

Blows a lot of bubbles. I use mine on my back dock here in the Galveston area to keep my piggy alive. It stopped working after a few months so I took it apart and it was full of water. I brought another one, took it apart and sealed it with marine grade silicone. Time will tell how it works. The manufacturer must seal the device to prevent water ingress. The bottom is only screwed.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • boring packaging

Sturdy machines at Air Pumps

I bought one of these a while back and hooked it up to my bait tank. This particular aerator has a rated capacity of 35 gallons. I pumped it up for a bait tank I built that holds 200 gallons. It pumps a lot of air for its size. I've only used it in cool weather and I know it won't be enough as the temperature rises. I am modifying a bait tank to hold two of these pumps combined with two Rule 500 GPH bilge pumps used to make a homemade water filter out of 4 inch PVC pipe. Between spraying the…

Very impressive pump

Hi I bought a pair of these pumps about two years ago. I could check my Revain history and find out for sure, but that doesn't matter. The first two pumps are still running, each pumping a half 75 gallon aquarium. The other pump on each tank was replaced once each. So, with the quality of the first pump evident, I bought a few more. They now make up half of the air in each of my 12 75 gallon tanks. And they just keep working. I was very impressed so I had two pairs outside to aerate my large…

Great bubbler for 5 gallon tanks

I bought this bubbler for my 5 gallon tank and it works fantastic! Exactly what I needed. This product comes as advertised. It comes with an air pump, hose and air stones. Air Stones deliver a large volume of air to provide plenty of oxygen to the water, and the stones are also weighted so they sink to the bottom of the tank. The only thing not included with the aerator, but also required, is a check valve, which prevents aquarium water from flowing back into the air pump and causing water…

  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Something different

Too loud Annoying vibrations bother me and the fish

This is an air pump that produces copious bubbles with double power, this feature is excellent. The problem is that the machine is very noisy, so loud that its vibrations hit my head, so I don't want to work in the garage. The side of the 24-gallon container that held the minnows vibrated at my touch. I removed the metal weights from the rocks and wrapped the device in a large drape, but that didn't help much. I finally broke down and ordered some super quiet aerators elsewhere at Revain and…

Pump makes LOTS of bubbles

This aerator makes LOTS of bubbles! I got it to make vermicompost tea and it works very well for that purpose. At the same time, I bought large stones, so I never tried the stones that come with this pump, but they seem sufficient to work well (for those worried about the lead weights on the stones that come with it make it can be easy to remove). The pump hums like all aerators, but since I use it in the garage I can't tell if it will bother you at home or not. I've read reviews claiming that…

mycelium is running! good for air pumps

I only received the item a few days ago, so I can't comment on durability yet. I can tell you how things are at the moment. This is common with others using it for mushrooms, notably the Paul Stametz method. Advantages: With the double hose you can aerate two buckets at the same time. The outlet really keeps the liquid moving! He does his job well. Each air stone has a weight sufficient to keep it submerged. You have everything you need to plug it in, plug in the air stones and do your thing…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Easy to maintain
