My old impeller always made this horrible rumble and rattle no matter how many times I cleaned it. I assumed it was worn out and needed replacing. Luckily the new block works like a charm! It's as quiet as it gets.

Impeller broke due to low water in an aquarium that has not been visited in months. The fish is still alive! This replacement works great and the tank is quiet now! The same Marineland 400 has been in the tank since it was bought, a few years ago.

These are redesigned wheels and mine also had a new redesigned bottom cover. I think Marineland got it right this time. If you have an old Emperor filter that was noisy 5-10 years ago, these impellers were actually made wrong (manufacturer change) and were very noisy. I managed to get some NOS. previous builds, but after 4-5 years they got tired. They are made with less detail and break even less, pump hard and the only sound I get is water running like it should.

I would buy them at the same time as my filters if I knew what a difference they would really make. It's amazing how much quieter my filters have gotten since replacing the impellers with these bad boys. Talk about a world of differences! I recommend them to any body that has a noisy filter. My aquarium uses sand as substrate and it always gets stuck in the filters, standard impellers can't cope with it, but they don't have a problem and are still absolutely noiseless even after two months…
