They succeeded with the redesign.
These are redesigned wheels and mine also had a new redesigned bottom cover. I think Marineland got it right this time. If you have an old Emperor filter that was noisy 5-10 years ago, these impellers were actually made wrong (manufacturer change) and were very noisy. I managed to get some NOS. previous builds, but after 4-5 years they got tired. They are made with less detail and break even less, pump hard and the only sound I get is water running like it should.
