I wish I had found this sooner!

So far I am very happy with this filter! The filter I previously used for my turtle tank eventually died and after trying to research different filters that work best for turtles I finally decided to give this one a try. After not using the filter in the aquarium for 2 days, the water got quite dirty, so I started "polishing" the water. I let it run for a few hours and the water is the cleanest it's been in a long time! I switched to charcoal and it's been a few days now and the reservoir is…

Very good product in filter

I just received the magnum polishing internal filter. I've always had clean water, but I remember back in the 70's when I had a diatomaceous earth filter and it made the water crystal clear. I love the versatility of this filter. As an emergency backup filter, filter for charcoal and/or other resins as needed, and especially micron + diatomaceous earth polishing function. Now I thought I screwed it up after I got it because I also ordered diatomaceous earth which was food grade and not filter…

So far so good! in filters

Brief background: We bought this for our 60 gallon tank after our canister filter started leaking one night (even though it was only 1.5 years old). We lost about 15 gallons of water; it seeped under our living room wall and soaked our spare bedroom carpet. We were very nervous trying a different canister filter. We've only had it a day or so, but so far we're very happy with it. Our water is very clean after being a bit cloudy (we don't even use a polishing filter) and it's as calm as it gets.

Great investment for fish and aquatic life

So I've had two of these units for about six months now and they work wonders for my 13 inch 120 gallon river cutter. Unfortunately, due to the way my tank is set up, I can't move a giant tank onto a regular can without, well, emptying it and letting it roam around for a bit. I have 3 Magnum Micron cartridges. I use one of the canisters for water purification and the other I use for the carbon filter. Cleaning is very easy compared to other filters I've had before. The ability to bleach the…

Outstanding performance Negative reviews have been found unfounded

I love this item! Super quiet and nothing more. I was hesitant after reading some negative reviews but found these negatives unfounded. The suction cups on the mount are strong enough to break if you slide a small knife under the edge. Sliding down the side of the tank is not a problem as long as you press the center of the suction cups to create suction. Just practical knowledge and common sense. I've used it as both a polishing filter and a regular charcoal/fiber filter with excellent…

Loud buzz solution

Too bad 4.5 stars are not available. My filter, like many others, was making a frequent and annoying 'hum' which really annoyed me and must have been awful for the fish. It was also often clogged and stopped working. I was confused. I cleaned it every couple of weeks and just put up with the noise (which wasn't always, but was frequent and sporadic). Then one day the filter stopped working again and I cleaned it and put it back together. Also clean, it didn't work. I disassembled it and looked…

A STORY OF TWO FILTERS

I have a 55 gallon filter that I use to quarantine fish and plants and also have a sort of 'pet' in in addition to aquariums for raising fry to have in my office. massive algae explosion. real flower. Massive cloud of algae. The worst. I've tried water changes and power outages with minimal effect. I have attached photos. Isn't that what everyone comes for? Photo. I had biological mechanical carbon bags on this tank. old Fluval 303 and the mentioned water changes. I once had a diatom filter and
