Hold hands

This is more of a warning/review. The paper cutter itself isn't bad. However, I've just used it for the second time and have grasped it by the 'attached' rubber handle. The handle slipped and the paper cutter hit the concrete floor, snapping most of the plastic around the swing arm. This is no longer a "paper cutter" but is now an expensive "paperweight". My advice to buyers: glue or glue the handle (as the manufacturer should) if you never plan on moving it.

Pros
  • 3/4" thick solid wood base
Cons
  • Legacy

Works but has a latch

I was very happy about the paper cutter. Upon opening the package, it turned out that the trimmer comes with a not fully lowered blade handle. This caused the blade to get stuck about 1/2-2/3 of the way to the handle when cutting. If I don't push in slightly and cut hard, the blade doesn't cut well. I've used other Premier trimmers that cut smoothly and with slow, even pressure on the handle, so I'm not sure if this is related to quality control or shipping. I would return the product for a…

Pros
  • Cuts matte card, cardboard, foil, napkins and fabrics.

  • piggy bank price

Good but not great

While overall this is a good cutter, I found one annoyance and one obvious problem. The annoying thing is that it would be a lot easier to align precise cuts to a specific line if the blade was raised higher. The blade is so low that it's hard to see where to align the cut at the top. Yes, I know a more specialized cutter would be better for precision work, but I needed a versatile, robust cutter and this fitted the bill perfectly. The real problem I have is that when I need to cut something…
