Saw it blowing in the wind behind my truck

Removing the factory handle trim was a real challenge. It was very reliable and a good fit, but I needed a camera. I was driving my truck once and this suspension fell out and will barely hold onto a stationary truck. It would be too difficult to remove and replace so I guess I'll resort to double sided tape on the inside and hope for the best. Cabling: I only had about 0.5 meters of play in the video jack. If you have a long cockpit you may need a video cable extension. I routed mine near the…

Excellent goods. This is an OEM grip cover and .

Great product. This is an OEM grip bezel and camera marked with GM part numbers. The power cable has a fuse and the video cable has a yellow component. I sanded and painted the frame to match my truck. Installed with a Kenwood head unit. The guidelines come from the main unit, not the camera. The easiest place to insert the video cable into the cab was where the shifter cable socket runs under the driver's side carpet. Power was connected from the trailer wiring harness. You may need a 90…

If you want to add a rear camera, this is the way to go!

I used this camera on my 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 which did not come with a factory rear view camera. The wire is wound well and installation is easy. The only installation recommendation I can give is to drill a hole in the center of the underside of the tailgate, drill a 3/4 hole, thread some wire through and use a rubber grommet to keep the moisture out. There was even a hole in the back where the factory wiring went under the tailgate, which I used and routed the camera wiring harness along the

Works well but could be better

First of all this is quite a unique product. I haven't found many tailgate handle cam options for the 2005 Silverado 2500HD. The material of construction appears to match the factory ring, but the assembly fit is sloppy at best. It doesn't seem that difficult to hold the plastic clips in place. I didn't want to let that happen, so I smeared four tabs with silicone. Zero movement after drying. Also of note is that the foam pads glued to the sides (mine was missing one side) are too thick and…

Aesthetically looks good but picture quality is disappointing

I bought this to match my 2008 Silverado and the tailgate frame fits perfectly and looks great. It actually looks like an OEM product. I inserted the wires into the split bundle and routed it along the frame to the cabin. Installation is not for the faint of heart! It took patience and ingenuity to route the video cable into the cockpit and connect it to my new receiver. I powered the right reversing light. After installation, I was a bit "not satisfied" with the picture quality. Others…

Works and looks clean; may be overpriced

There were 3-4 of these secondary backup cameras to choose from for the 2007-2013 Sierra/Silverado tailgate. at a price of 60 to 90 dollars; this one is top notch. Since I don't like doing a job twice, I decided to spend an extra $30. Now that I've got the camera installed, I'm not sure what that extra $30 could go for. Image quality is average, which I find acceptable for a rear camera. Don't watch the Superbowl through that thing. But the wires are very flimsy, no video connection adapter…

Extremely accurate and too wide-angled

This product is a great idea and would be a really great product if the developers hadn't made two mistakes. First, as other reviewers point out, the fit isn't great. This will help trim the foam pads on either side of the grip, but even then the grip won't be tight. Second, although the sellers proudly boast that the camera has a very wide field of view of 170 degrees, in reality the camera would be much more useful if the field of view was significantly narrower. At 170 degrees, the image is…
