Description of ๐Ÿ”ง MASTERCOOL (81490) R134A Valve Core Remover Installer - Yellow Gold, 6.8 Inch (Standard 5mm Valve Cores Only)

100% U.S. designed, assembled and tested. Designed for use of servicing valves in R134a systems with standard sized 5mm valve cores. For high (16 mm) and low (13 mm) service port standard type valve. Access and change valve cores while the A/C system is still filled with refrigerant. Stainless steel ball valve design and patented thread remover lets the user block off the system while changing the valves cores, allowing for no refrigerant loss.

WILL NOT FIT Chevy Avalanche HIGH valve! Start guessing!

Bought to replace Schrader AC valves. Replacing the lower valve was done in 2 minutes! The high valve didn't fit at all. Master Cool does NOT provide any technical documentation or specifications. They don't even know what is suitable for "universal". An absolute hit/miss with an absolute chance of selling the complete set for $135.00. In particular, when I used the Master Cool Schrader tool on the high valve, the 1/2" portion of the piston was too short to snap the Schrader valve in forโ€ฆ

  • good thing

Good tool but not for JRA valve cores

tool = good. I = bad. The bottom valve on my 2006 Toyota 4Runner was leaking, so I decided to do the job myself. I'm not an AC specialist so I couldn't tell a JRA valve from a standard 8mm valve by a hole in the floor. I wasn't sure what my car had so I just bought a valve kit and this tool and hoped for the best. I don't even have to tell you the climax, do I? Come and find out, my valve on the low pressure side is a JRA valve (which I think is also called a high flow schrader valve) which isโ€ฆ

I can easily tell which one it is

I have a 2000 Class A motorhome with a Ford F53 chassis and a Triton V10 engine. The tool arrived today and I have used it with success. But also with some difficulties. The problem was only in my lower side valve. It took 3 attempts before it worked. Reading the reviews beforehand helped a lot. First, make sure what type of valve you have. As far as I know there are 3 options. Schrader, JRA or what I call a high flow valve that looks very different. I went to auto parts and looked at all 3. If

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Slightly dented

This is a brilliant little tool IF you can get it to work on both the high and low side AC power connectors on your particular car. Then it's worth the cost. I have a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT and my problem was that the original GM high pressure valve for this (and many other GM vehicles) does not have a "Schrader" type valve core, it has a rubber ball/plug type core . Repairing a leaking/damaged valve requires draining all refrigerant and replacing the entire valve on the high pressureโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
