Spherical Bead shape for optimum hydrodynamics that will not pack like competing products. Permits maximum water flow and contact with is high density of microporous binding sites. Matrix carbon has a very low ash content as indicated by its minimal impact on pH; even when added to distilled water It does not raise above a pH of 7. Outperforms other high grade carbons by at least two fold when compared for total capacity to remove organic matter, rate of adsorption, and duration.

Best Carbon

Best Carbon. Spherical balls, low dust and long life make this charcoal my choice. I've tried a few but this is my number one.

Good efficient charcoal at a good price

Great aquarium charcoal for the price. Although the matrix is bituminous carbon, the small spherical particles gave me better clarity and ORP than others and none of my thighs got HLLE from this carbon. ROX Carbon is better, but significantly more expensive.

Best marine reef carbon for the period

Shape (round) and quality of MatrixCarbon is far superior to anything I have used in the past. I can set this up in a MyReefCreastions media reactor that has a nice tumbling motion without worrying about the carbon decomposing and fouling my saltwater tank. I use about a half gallon at a time and change them about every three to four months. My setup is a Red Sea Reefer 450. I use an Ecotech Marine Vectra M1 to power two MRC media reactors and a large UV sterilizer. Bucket. Couldn't be easierโ€ฆ
