Very disappointing. rite I had problems with the clip holding the probe from the start. The design is such that it does not wrap around the probe but sits in a groove in the clip. I replaced it thinking it was the original that was sent to me. no-go it was the same. the probe continues to detach from the clamp. I just threw everything in the trash. This thermometer has been very useful for us in the kitchen. We rented and our landlord bought the cheapest Magic Chef propane stove / even he could. When set at 350F the oven heats up to 417 and goes down to 282. If we set it to 370F, it heats up to 388 and drops to 350. The manual explains a little how ovens sense and respond to temperature and how a properly working oven will vary within 50 degrees throughout the cooking time (they will be 25 degrees above the set temperature and 25 degrees below the set temperature) and is still considered accurate.
