Cheaper adapters sound better!

After buying three identical adapters that cost between $4 and $5, I bought a Maxell cassette adapter in the hope that the higher price and positive reviews meant I'd give them a go could no longer replace every 6 months. Initially, the adapter ejected automatically, but after moving part of the cassette into the player, it worked. Having used this for 2 months I have no complaints about the quality of the stuff (the connector side is still intact) but the sound quality is incredibly empty…

Cassette Adapter with Unique Features

How do you load audio cassettes into your car's cassette deck? Do you use them narrow-sided or wide-sided? The problem is that most cassette adapters don't fit both types of cassette decks. This is no problem with this Maxell adapter. The great thing about this cassette adapter is that the audio cable coming out can be configured to exit narrow or wide, meaning there are no compatibility issues. NOTES ----------- If you don't hear anything, try reversing the audio cable so that it comes out of…

Replacement works great

These are surprisingly simple devices. If you had an old tape recorder that you could disassemble into a read/write head, any electronic hobbyist could put it back together. Luckily the price reflects this, so it's just not worth making one. Unfortunately, the low price doesn't support full quality control. The first one I popped out of my car's player every 30 seconds or so. Then he played for 10 minutes and broke out because of the silence between tracks. I have no idea how the player's…

Don't waste your money on this one

Terrible product! Do not buy! I previously had a Philips ribbon adapter and it gave me no problems for 10 years until it finally broke. I bought another Philips but I don't support them anymore because they make subpar electronics. I had a $200 portable boombox they made that died within 2 years. I've been using this Maxell for a few months and it has really good sound quality. A bass adapter is not needed as you can still tune the bass from your deck. This thing has been giving me problems…

Maxell CD-330 CD to Cassette Audio Adapter

I was quite skeptical that this unit would play acceptable sound through my Honda CR-V Cassette Player , when it is connected to Sansa Fuze. However, I was pleasantly surprised - the sound was not only acceptable, but also very good! As a professional MIDI musician, I'm pretty picky about what I consider "good"; This Maxell adapter far exceeds what I expected from this type of technology. I understand there will be many variables depending on what each consumer can expect in terms of sound…

  • Stereo analog mini jack to connect to any .125" headphone jack

Looks cheap but works great!

I have yet to move with the times and replace the old cassette deck in my car. I also have an old record/cassette/CD combo box at my house that doesn't have any kind of AUX input, so I was dependent on an audio adapter to get the job done. I used to have a Phillips adapter that worked great. The sound was good enough and it served its purpose. This one broke recently (the wires got a bit finicky and required constant pressure to play both channels). Then I used my spare adapter from RCA. It…
