Definitely not hot enough for 12 hours. Maybe 2-4 hours. It stays warm for 8-10 hours but definitely not hot or even warm. I'll look into this because my job doesn't have a microwave and the bowl and spoon lid is very convenient. I prefer warm than cold. But it lasts a lot longer than the 10 ounce thermos branded containers. (And yes, I put boiling water in it 10 minutes before eating).

All in all a great little insulated food jar and would be perfect if there wasn't a slight flaw. The button on the lid, which I believe relieves some pressure from the jar, allows water to get stuck in the lid when washing. I'm concerned that not all the water will come out and cause mold. This button should go from top to bottom but without holes in the cover. Lets see what happens. A spoon and lid as a bowl is a great idea.

Cute design thanks to the folding spoon that fits into the lid. Keeps you warm. The only downside is that the inner lid is difficult to screw on and off. You must level it accurately before attempting to close it. The outer lid is tricky for little hands, but at least you can use the handle to open and close it. Surprisingly large volume. At first I thought it was a mistake and actually used my measuring cup to make sure this glass actually holds 17 ounces as it doesn't look like it does. Very impressive. I picked one up hoping to take it on a hike and decided to see how long it would isolate the food (plan for soup in the morning and a hot lunch 6 hours later when hiking).
