Easy to use, accurate scale!

These scales are very accurate but can sometimes be off by 0.1 grains when weighing the same powder load multiple times. It doesn't matter to me as I don't feel it has any ballistic value. This scale is very useful to me as I reload rifles, pistols and shotguns and this scale easily supports the heavy weight of the shotgun. It is sensitive to wind and drafts, so do not breathe on it when you weigh it. All in all a really good scale for the money!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works for reload accuracy

I'm loading some new cartridges that are having a hard time preserving data. Therefore it is IMPORTANT that I know how much powder I put in the case in order not to end up with a dangerous load. My only fault at the moment is that it seems to have a problem keeping the zero about 5-10 seconds apart between consecutive weighments. Pressing the reset button is very easy, but it hurts. Some people say they are susceptible to interference from fluorescent lights and cell phones. I couldn't pinpoint

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Can do damage

More accurate and stable than others

After the performance of other small digital scales deteriorated, I bought this one from Maxus. I think it's great that it goes up to 100 grains instead of just 10. This allows you to get closer to the desired powder area for reloading. When I encountered problems with digital scales and realized that a fan and/or overhead light and even electronics placed too close such as cell phones could turn off a digital scale, I bought this scale and hoped for the best. This scale is much more stableโ€ฆ

Unreliability in kitchen utensils and appliances

Bought this to complement my Hornady high precision beam scale. Took the crappy batteries out of the box and replaced them with some new AAAs from Energizer. The scale was accurate for a while (I checked it with a Hornady scale and the readings were almost identical) and then it suddenly went up 0.3 grams. and stay there until I turn off the power. For example, I would measure 4.4 gr. Powder when processing a new 9mm load and the scale reads accurately but after 10 or 12 measurements itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Trade-in available

This scale has a potentially dangerous floating zero problem. I gave it one star because it's often the only way to give other customers the information they need to know about design flaws, understand the problem, and learn how to use the scale safely if they choose. Buy it. This review is a bit long because I tried to explain the problem and solution in different ways. These scales are pretty good, especially for the price if you avoid one potentially dangerous aspect of how these scalesโ€ฆ
