Unreliable network products

I got worried at first when I installed the device and needed to install and run some server management software on my local computer. To me, the whole point of a network print server is to get something offline and offline. The product often freezes and needs to be restarted (unplug the power cord and plug it back in). When it works, it's a lot slower than my last print server. I'm considering giving up this product and buying the Linksys EPSX3, which I actually wanted except it's a lot moreโ€ฆ

Poor documentation is best with networking products

I have no doubt that this is a perfectly working product because I used it for a while until my printer died and I got a new connector with built in networking . However, even with a good knowledge of the topic, the setup was not particularly intuitive. That's too much to ask for most home users! The problem arose when we wanted to reuse it a few years later. Nowhere in the documentation or software is it described how to factory reset and reboot, so a forgotten admin password was a problemโ€ฆ

It's true - it's junk

The installer is useless. I can connect the device directly to a computer or to a hub, but the program still cannot find the print server. Call technical support, wait half an hour and finally everything will work. (Tech support seems VERY good at getting this thing to work. I called a lot I know.) Within 2 days the print server stopped working. For several months it worked intermittently and with a lot of fuss. Now he appears to be dead. Buy something else - anyone have a recommendation?!?

This is a great product.

A new version of this product has been released and works great. I wanted to connect 2 printers to my 2 computers. Tried the Dlink 1260 print server. I couldn't get it to work on one printer and one computer. After almost 2 full days of trying and hours of phone calls with tech support. I was told to send the dlink back as it was defective. I tried another one and had the same problem and spent hours on the phone with tech support. I also returned it and bought a Hawking HPS12U. I had an issueโ€ฆ
