🚵 MAXXIS Dissector 29x2.6" Wide Trail Tire - EXO+/3C/Maxx Terra/TR Review

After I put it to the test on technical trails, I found these tires to lack the grip and durability necessary for serious riding. While they may work for a leisurely ride, they do not hold up under intense conditions.

I paired this with a 2.6 Rekon on the front tire to replace the two sets of Rekon Race my XTC 2 came with as I needed a little more grip and more lift surface. on the slightly rougher XC courses in this area. If you are looking for a quality tire for lighter AZ trails with good grip and content but don't want to go all the way to Assegai or Minions then this is the tire for you.

I recently switched to a dissector in the rear after using the DHR2 for 4-5 years. At this point I believe the Dissector has about the same grip (slightly less than the DHR2) but it seems to roll a little faster. The Dissector also seems to wear out a bit better than the DHR2, which was really one of my main issues with this tire. All in all, a great option for me in Northern California (a mix of sandy, loamy, muddy trails that can get muddy).
