Description of ๐Ÿšด Maxxis Larsen TT MTB Tire

Ramped knob technology on the leading edge, coupled with close spacing, permits the small square knobs to roll fast. Trailing edges allow climbing and braking power on hard to medium terrain. Low rolling resistance.

Maxxis tires for cycling

Great tires! Excellent grip and traction. Drives very quietly. Installation was a little tricky, but once the board was in place, it was time to hit the road.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Negative available

Good tires for tires and tubes

These are good tyres. I think they have enough grip but also good "roll". I ride in the Midwest and often have rocky and rooty conditions. I think they work well for most of my rides.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • old

Absolutely great tire

This is a GREAT unidirectional tire. It gives me a sense of security both uphill and downhill. Excellent traction. Excellent shoulder profile. And I can run it at 65psi(!) when driving on Mexico's bad, potholed roads.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Trade-in available

good and cheap good for sport

I've only used this tire 5 or 6 times so can't comment on its durability but so far it's been a good tyre. I considered the Kenda Small Block 8 but settled on the cheaper and slightly more aggressive Larsen TT tread pattern. I'd say it's pretty much on par with the Kenda that most people that I ride. This is a great tire for West Texas conditions, loose rocks and hard dirt.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Only available in black

The best! Best in Sport

I do a lot of mountain biking during my 3 month winter stay here in Puerto Vallarta. These dirt roads in the desert range from dust to sand, from pebbles to rocks, from rocks to boulders. At 70 and Coumadin's lifetime, I need all the confidence I can get on these roads. These tires really give me confidence with great grip in all conditions. And they are very strong. I can't say enough about her.

Pros
  • GOLS Certificate
Cons
  • Something else

Good all terrain tire

This tire fits me perfectly. I had slick road tires on my mountain bike because I ride roads most of the time. However, when I went off-road, these tires underperformed and resulted in a few punctures. I decided to try these tires and haven't had a flat tire since. The tread had good grip in the mud, low drag for a knotted tire and was fairly quiet on the road. I would recommend this tire as a great all terrain tire.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Overall I would rate this tire as very good. I ride about 25 miles per ride (100 miles per week) on an even mix of paved surfaces and trails. The tire rolls fairly well on paved surfaces and maintains good traction. Like all-season car tires, this offers a good balance of low rolling resistance and traction. My experience is that the rear tire wears out almost twice as fast as the front tire. I get about 1300-1400 miles on the rear and 2500 on the front before needing to change them.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some minor issues
