Not quite USB-C for computers and accessories

Doesn't work with USB-C power adapter - not at all! "I suspect this is a PD issue like other reviewers have said, but if it runs like USB-C and talks like USB-C. Spring.!? Plug USB-A into one end and stop being a show-off!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Upgradeable

It works for some, but not when using a USB-C power adapter.

Doesn't work with USB-C power adapter. I've tried three different power adapters and it doesn't switch when powered via USB-C. This works if you use a USB-B power adapter and a USB-BC cable. After reading the reviews I now see that others have had the same issue.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Very disappointing - should have read the reviews

Apparently it doesn't work with USB C PD, it wasn't mentioned in the description. I am very disappointed that I cannot use the desired power supply. Update: They work with the official Raspberry Pi 4 power supply, so I've given them an extra star. They are still losing 3 stars for not mentioning that they are not USB C PD compatible.

  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

They will not work with a USB-C power adapter.

I've tried all four with a Raspberry Pi 4 and a phone but they don't work. It's USB C so I don't know how I can go wrong. Update: Before trying to send them back I did some more experimenting and they seem to work if your power source is USB A and you are using a USB A to USB C cable. But if you use USB C to USB C, no joy. Upgraded from 1 star to 2 because they might work for some people.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Ok for the most part, but...

Same low voltage warning as others

So I figured the issue for other reviewers might have been an accident, but it appears to be an issue with the product in general. I have a Raspberry Pi 4 with an official power supply and a small fan connected to pin 1 of the GPIO (3.3V) and that's it. After only about 20 minutes of transferring files via WinSCP, I went to the command line and got a low voltage warning. It seems that this product just can't sustain the required performance while running the Pi under full load with a small fan.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great for all your Raspberry Pi or other miniature console needs.

Connecting and disconnecting cheaper power supplies that come with the Raspberry Pi, like the CanaKit, or Mini-NES/SNES cables. The toggle switch is not installed anywhere. This causes significant wear and tear on the device's small and delicate USB-C power connector. By using one of these devices, you reduce wear and tear significantly by simply having a toggle switch that cuts off mains power. These particular are a fine example. Not well done, but not 50 cent rubbish either. The cables and…

It really helps with my RP4s

I've struggled for years to get the switches on my Pis to work. After a while I just gave up. These cords make it easy. RP4s are powerful, so I keep buying more and building small MIDI synth modules, and these connectors are just right for that. You still need to shut down properly, but you don't have to worry about unplugging and breaking your plug. What about the "features" that Revane wants to check? Thickness. Pretty fat. I can pinch him. I can hold it in my hand. Sometimes I grab it end to

  • This is amazing

Pi ONLY and will not work with all devices

I'm adding two stars because these switches seem pretty standard and I'll admit they work for Raspberry Pis. However, the design isn't very useful as you still need a dedicated Raspberry Pi power supply and it only works reliably to power the Pi. so now i'm not sure what to do with four of them. hey At least it has an LED. TL; DR: Your optional 18W phone chargers (PD) will not work with this. A non-Pi device will be confused at how much current it can draw and charge slowly. I would only…

Reviews are confusing, product is a great switch for Raspberry Pi 4.

You will not receive exactly what is advertised in the photos and information above. Sealed switch with LED indicator? nope The switch, which comes without an LED indicator, still feels very good and makes a positive click when turning on and off. This is a good switch, I have no complaints. It snaps securely into my Type-C USB cable and into my Raspberry Pi. It's nice. So I think it's well done. I can't believe all the reviews from people who have no idea that USB 2.0 and USB Type-C are…
