Great Tool! Cuts clean holes with ease. Very sharp; can get away from you and break the pilot bit. I broke (2) pilot bits almost immediately with a portable drill. Pilot bits are very hard but brittle; they will not bend. I made my own pilot drill out of a standard drill. Overall I'm very happy with the product, but wish the pilot bit was a little softer. I see no problem with the pilot drill when the work is held in a vise on the drill press.

Excellent product. After reading the negative reviews I decided to give the drill a try and am very glad I did. I had 4 3/4" holes through a 3/8" plate. I used a hole punch and then pre-drilled it with a 1/4" bit to create a small funnel for the drill bit to follow. The drill bit worked perfectly in my drill press at medium speed. I tried it on a friend's recommendation. Arrived well packaged in a reusable plastic case, the build quality is excellent at first glance. Good heaviness. I like that the pilot jet can be replaced with a hex head screw. It cut through 3/16 aluminum plates with ease, but I'll admit that since it looks so good I'll wait a while before trying it on steel.
